This Privacy Policy explains how Aletheia Systems ("Aletheia Systems”) collects, uses, and discloses your personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you use our website, mobile application, social media pages, and other online products and services or when you otherwise interact with us, including when you contact us for customer support (collectively, the "Services”). What Kinds of Personal Information Do We Collect?

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  1. Contact and demographic data. We may collect your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, and other similar contact data. We also may collect data about you such as your age, country, and preferred language.
  2. Account credentials. We collect passwords and similar security information used for authentication and account access.
  3. Usage data. We collect usage and behavioral data about how you use our products and services. This includes, but is not limited to, data such as the search terms you enter, the pages you visit, the links you hover over and click on, and the items you purchase. We may also collect information about browsing history and websites visited prior to, and subsequent to, our websites. We may also collect data about your device such as IP address, device identifiers, and data about the network, operating system, browser, and software you use to connect to our products and services.
  4. Location data. We may collect location data derived from your IP address.
  5. Payment data. If you make a purchase, we collect data necessary to process your payment, such as your name, credit card number, and security code.
  6. Support data. If you contact Aletheia Systems customer support, we may collect the content of your communications with Aletheia Systems. Phone conversations or correspondence with our representatives may be monitored and recorded.
  7. Directory and public record data. Aletheia Systems also collects and licenses data from third parties and publicly available sources to provide its Lookups and list services. This data includes name, current and former address, phone number, possible aliases, marital status, date of birth, email address, property records, traffic and criminal records, public records, licenses records, and permit records.
  8. Google Drive Integration. If you are using Aletheia Systems integrated with Google Drive, you can choose to upload selected files from your Google Drive to our application for processing, and then upload the files back to your Google Drive after processing. The data we collect is what you choose to provide to us, including personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

How Do We Collect Personal Information?

The data we collect directly from you as a website user, application user, or business customer is used specifically for business-related purposes and is never integrated into or used for unrelated purposes such as our products or services.

The data we collect depends on the services and features of our products that you use. You provide some data directly, such as when you create an account, submit a search query, or contact us for support. Our servers collect information known as "log data,” that includes your IP address, the time your computer or device visited the site, the URL of the website you arrived from, and the type of device or browser you used to access the site. We also get information by recording how you use our services and whether you navigate between our services and other sites. For example, we use cookies (small text files placed on your device) and web beacons (small graphic images contained in a Web page or email) and may receive usage data from software running on your device. We also obtain information about consumers from third party sources, such as data licensors and public records. We use this information to validate and enrich information in our databases so that we can provide and improve our products.

How Do We Use the Personal Information We Collect?

Aletheia Systems collects and uses personal information in order to provide useful products and services to you and others. We also use this data to improve the quality of those products and services, to process payments, for fraud prevention, for advertising purposes, to comply with legal requirements, and to provide customer support to our users. We also use data to verify information we have received from other sources, to help us analyze the usage and effectiveness of our products and services, and to improve our products and services. We may use data to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, and to protect our users against fraud and abuse. We may also use data to send you communications, including promotional communications, or to serve advertising to you.

If you are using Aletheia Systems’ products and services integrated with Google Drive, we use the information you choose to provide to us to check and verify names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, and Append-related contact information.

What is Our Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information?

When we process this personal data, we will only do so in the following situations:

  • We have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data. For example, we process the personal data we collect from you to send you marketing communications, to communicate with you about changes to our Services, to enhance the safety and security of our Facilities, and to help provide, secure, and improve our Services.
  • If we request your consent to a specific processing activity, and you provide your consent in the manner indicated.
  • In some cases, processing will be necessary for compliance with a legal obligation. Legal obligations for which Aletheia Systems may process personal data are responding to legal process, processing data subject rights requests, and complying with export and sanctions laws.

If you have consented to our use of your personal data for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent, but this will not affect the data processing that has already happened. Where we are using your information because we have a legitimate interest to do so, you have the right to object to that use, but in some cases, this may mean no longer being able to use the Services.

Do We Share or Sell Personal Information?

As a general rule, Aletheia Systems does not rent, sell, or share personal information that you have provided to us when using this website or our mobile apps, including Google Drive integration. The only circumstances under which we would share your personal information are when Aletheia Systems has obtained your explicit permission, or under the following circumstances:

  • If required by applicable law, regulation or legal process, including in connection with lawful requests by law enforcement, national security, or other public authorities; or
  • In connection with the merger or sale of all or a portion of our business to another company.

Separate from your use of our website and Services, we do share, rent, and sell personal information that we have collected through third-party licenses, data brokers, or publicly available sources. The types of personal information that we sell include personal name, alias, home address, email address, telephone number, age, date of birth, and income. We share, rent, and sell this information to our customers as useful products for the purpose of address validation, identity verification, and marketing and CRM (customer relationship management) purposes.

How Do We Store Personal Information?

We store the personal data we collect about you for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which we originally collected it. We may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes, as required by law, or where necessary to preserve it in contemplation of litigation, legal proceedings or an investigation. The storage periods are determined on a case-by-case basis that depends on factors like the nature of the information, why it is collected and processed, relevant legal or operational retention needs, and legal obligations. If you are using Google Drive integration, we will retain the files you provide to us for up to two (2) months.

How Can You Control and Access Your Personal Information?

Removal Requests

Aletheia Systems aims to extend consumer data privacy protections to all individuals. Regardless of your state or country of residence, you can request to have your personal information removed from our Aletheia Systems Lookups and other database products. A limited number of U.S. States, including California, have enacted data privacy laws that give residents of that state enhanced rights regarding their personal information. Unsubscribe from Aletheia Systems Email & Direct Mail Advertising

You may also request to unsubscribe from Aletheia Systems’s targeted email and direct mail (i.e., paper mail) advertising by sending an email to info@Aletheia Systems.com with the following information: your complete name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address. Please clearly state in your email if you wish to be removed from our direct mail list, email list, or both. If you move or change your name, you will need to contact us again with your new address or name.

Please note, the Direct Marketing Association’s DMAChoice mail preference service allows you to unsubscribe from receiving unsolicited commercial mail from many national companies. When you register with this service, your name will be put on a "delete” file and made available to direct-mail marketers and organizations. This will reduce most of your unsolicited mail. If you would like to unsubscribe from direct mail advertising, please visit www.dmachoice.org.

Responsible marketing companies respect your choice to not receive direct mail advertising. DMA members, as a condition of membership, are required to suppress the names and addresses of individuals who have notified the DMA that they do not want to receive advertising by mail. Aletheia Systems subscribes to and suppresses any name and address on the DMAChoice mail preference service file from its direct mail marketing efforts.

Do We Collect Information About Children?

No. Our Services are directed to and intended for use by individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not target or market to children nor knowingly collect any information from or about anyone under 18 years of age. The California Consumer Protection Act

CCPA Notice – Personal Information of California Residents

The California Consumer Protection Act of 2018 ("CCPA”) was enacted to enhance privacy rights for residents of the state of California. In November 2020, California voters passed Proposition 24, also known as the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA”), which amends and expands the CCPA. The new CCPA provisions, with the CPRA amendments, became effective on January 1, 2023. For ease of reference, these California consumer privacy laws collectively will be referred to herein as "CCPA.”

Under CCPA, a resident of California ("Consumer”) has certain rights related to their personal information. "Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. Personal information does not include publicly available information or lawfully obtained, truthful information that is a matter of public concern. (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.140(v)(2).)

This Privacy Notice for California residents supplements the information in Aletheia Systems’ Privacy Policy and describes how Aletheia Systems processes personal data we collect about individuals who resides in the state of California.

Your Consumer Rights Under CCPA

As a California resident, you may exercise the following rights in relation to the personal information about you that we have collected, subject to certain limitations and exceptions:

  1. The right to know what personal information has been collected, disclosed, shared, or sold. (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.110, 1798.115.)

    You have the right to request the following information from the past 12 months, upon verification of your identity:

    • The categories of personal information we have collected about you;
    • The sources of that personal information, identified by category;
    • Our business or commercial purposes for collecting or, if applicable, sharing or selling your personal information;
    • The categories of third parties to whom the personal information was disclosed; and
    • The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

  2. The right to request deletion of personal information. (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.105.)

    You have the right to request the deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.

  3. The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.120.)

    You have the right to direct us not to sell or share the personal information we have collected about you to third parties.

  4. The right to correct inaccurate personal information. (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.106.)

    If we maintain inaccurate personal information about you, you have the right to request that we correct that inaccurate personal information, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes of the processing of the personal information.

  5. The right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.121.)

    You have the right to request that we limit our use of your sensitive personal information to the use which is necessary to provide the services, and for certain business purposes

  6. The right to non-discrimination and non-retaliation for exercising rights conferred by CCPA. (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.125.)

    By exercising your rights under CCPA, you have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment – for example, we cannot deny goods or services to you, nor can we charge you different prices for goods or services.

Personal Information We Collect

Please note that "Personal Information,” as defined by CCPA, does not include publicly available information that is available from federal, state, or local government records, or information that a business has a reasonable basis to believe is lawfully made available to the general public by the consumer or from widely distributed media, or information made available by a person to whom the consumer has disclosed the information if the consumer has not restricted the information to a specific audience. The data we collect directly from you as a website user, application user, or business customer is used specifically for business-related purposes and is never integrated into or used for unrelated purposes such as our products or services.

Personal Information We Sell, Share, or Disclose to Third Parties

The CCPA distinguishes between personal information that is disclosed for a business purpose (i.e., for our internal operating purposes: maintaining or servicing accounts, verifying customer information, processing payments) and personal information that is sold or shared for a commercial purpose (i.e., inducing a business or individual to buy or subscribe to our products and services).

NOTE: Our website and all products and services are intended for use by individuals over 18 years of age. We do not collect, sell, share, or disclose any information about anyone under 18 years of age.

Selling or Sharing to Third Parties

Aletheia Systems does not sell or share personal information to third parties that you provide to us when using this website or in relation to your use of the Services.

Separate from your use of our website and Services, we do share and sell personal information that we have collected through third-party licenses, data brokers, government entities, or publicly available sources. We do this to provide useful products to our customers that are typically used for address validation, identity verification, or for marketing and CRM (customer relationship management) purposes. Within the past twelve (12) months, we have sold or shared the following categories of information:

Disclosing to Third Parties

Within the past twelve (12) months, the only circumstances under which we have disclosed your personal information for business purposes are for the following reasons:

  • For payment processing;
  • For data analytics purposes; or
  • If required by applicable law, regulation or legal process, including in connection with lawful requests by law enforcement, national security, or other public authorities.

Consumer Requests Under CCPA

A resident of California may submit a verifiable consumer request to exercise their consumer rights. If you are a resident of California and would like to submit a CCPA verifiable consumer request to Aletheia Systems, go to our Consumer Privacy webform and select the Consumer Request option(s) you would like to exercise. In order to prevent improper or potentially fraudulent requests under CCPA, consumers are required to submit "verifiable consumer requests.” A "verifiable consumer request” means a request that is made by:

  • a consumer,
  • by a consumer on behalf of the consumer’s minor child,
  • by a natural person or a person registered with the Secretary of State, authorized by the consumer to act on the consumer’s behalf, or
  • by a person who has power of attorney or is acting as a conservator for the consumer, and
  • that the business can verify, using commercially reasonable methods.

Accordingly, in order to respond to your CCPA consumer request, we must verify your identity. This will require that you provide certain personal information for validation, such as an image of your driver’s license. If we are unable to satisfactorily verify your identity, we will be unable to fulfill your consumer request in accordance with the provisions of CCPA. However, any individual, regardless of state of residence, may request to have their personal information deleted from our Aletheia Systems Lookups and other database products. Other State Consumer Privacy Acts

  1. About Aletheia Systems’ State Law Privacy Notice

    Some U.S. states have enacted consumer privacy laws that give their residents certain rights relating to their personal data. This notice is intended to inform individuals living in the following states regarding their rights under state-specific data privacy laws:

    • Virginia: The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act ("VCDPA"), effective January 1, 2023.
    • Colorado: The Colorado Privacy Act ("CPA"), effective July 1, 2023.
    • Connecticut: The Connecticut Data Privacy Act ("CTDPA"), effective July 1, 2023.
    • Utah: The Utah Consumer Privacy Act ("UCPA"), effective December 31, 2023.

    A "Controller" is a person (or business) that determines the purpose for and means of processing personal data.

    "Personal data" is any information that is linked or reasonably linkable to an identified or identifiable natural person. "Personal data" does not include de-identified data or publicly available information.

    "Publicly available information" means information that is lawfully made available through federal, state, or local government records, and information that a controller has a reasonable basis to believe is lawfully made available to the general public.

Consumer Personal Data Rights

As a resident of one of the states identified above, you may invoke your consumer rights by submitting a consumer request to Aletheia Systems specifying the consumer rights you wish to exercise.

Right to Know and Access

You have the right to confirm whether or not we are processing your personal data and to access that personal data.

Right to Correct Inaccuracies

You have the right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data, based on the nature of the personal data and our purposes for processing that personal data.

Right to Delete

You have the right to delete personal data provided by or obtained about you.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to obtain a copy of the personal data that your previously provided to us in a portable and readily usable format, if technically possible.

Right to Opt-Out

You have the right to opt-out of the processing of your personal information for purposes of (1) targeted advertising, (2) the sale of personal data, or (3) profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. We will also collect opt-in or opt-out consent, depending on the state in which you reside.

Consumer Requests

If you are a resident of one of the states identified on this page and would like to submit a consumer request to Aletheia Systems, go to our Consumer Privacy Request Form and select the Consumer Request option(s) you would like to exercise. You can also call us at (404) .

In order to prevent improper or potentially fraudulent requests, you are required to submit an "authenticated consumer request.” This means that we must verify your identity by requesting personal information for validation, such as an image of your driver’s license. If we are unable to authenticate your request, we are not required to comply with the request and we may request that you provide additional information.

However, any individual, regardless of state of residence, may request to have their personal information removed from our Aletheia Systems Lookups and may opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. If you would simply like to request deletion of your information, select "Right to Delete” and/or "Right to Opt-Out of Sale” in the Consumer Privacy Request Form.

If we decline to take action regarding your request, you may appeal such decision within 60 days of the original request date by emailing us.
